Plott Hound - Homer P. Hound - Large - Adult - Male - Dog
HOMER is about 6 years old and weighs 76 pounds. We originally listed him as a Great Dane-mix, but that is not accurate. He is a Plott hound! Now that he has been with us a while, as well as with our trainer Charlie Brugnola, of Helendale, CA, we realize he does like other dogs, but is especially fond of and devoted to the humans in his life. He exhibits hound traits. Homer loves people of all ages, especially children. Homer sleeps inside at night on a Kuranda bed. During the day, he wants to be with his people, indoors or out.
Homer's family had to move out of State and could not take him with them. He was just a puppy when he was brought into their family. It
has taken Homer a while to adjust to the many changes involved when his original family had to leave his life.
Charlie discovered Homer loves to swim, ride in the car, go shopping where dogs are allowed, play at the Dog Park, and meet strangers along the way,and he is showing promise as a service dog. We are learning more about Homer every day. He will need a forever home where he is with his new family a lot. He is a wonderful, loyal dog.
